My invention, called a Glowbo, is a six-sided box that projects engraved or cut artwork onto a surface, taking its cues from professional stage lighting. Glowbos are reusable, portable, customizable, and easy to install without the need for a professional. They are modular and can be scaled up or down based on customer requirements. They are compact and easy to store or display. They are often cumbersome and difficult to install. Furthermore, traditional stage and architectural lighting is often bulky, expensive, and requires significant amounts of energy to power them, in addition to being difficult to source for an average consumer. The invention claimed here solves these problems. Glowbos are reusable, portable, customizable, lightweight, and easy to install. They are modular and can easily be scaled up or down based on customer requirements. They draw very little energy because they employ LEDs. They are inexpensive to produce and thus will be accessible to a much wider swath of consumers than typical stage, architectural, and virtual signage lights. The claimed invention differs from what currently exists. Glowbos are unique because of their attachment for LED lights (depicted as a magnet, though could be a hook &amp; loop fastener or another style of attachment), their holes provided for mounting onto a base, their hole provided for a charging cable, and their holes provided for mounting them using zip ties or other simple attachment methods. They are unique because of their easily interchangeable face plates that can project unique images and patterns. This magnetic LED lighting source is the preferred method of practicing the invention, and the design is modular in that it also allows for a wired light source or other lighting application to be used. They are also simple, modular, and beautiful as design objects. They are low cost to produce and will in turn be accessible to consumers because of the lower price point. The words of the poem are exposed when the Lightbox is illuminated, a cheesy and literal nod to the way in which the STUD allowed me to shine from within and inspired me to own my queerness, my sexuality, and my artistic persona as both a multimedia artist and as a dancer. Recognizing 18 unique people, places, and protests from pre-Stonewall through modern day in a series of illustrated and text drawings, the project aims to re-center the narrative of our annual June Pride celebrations away from rainbow capitalism to its original principles of resistance, rebellion, and radical self-expression.
